LE DOMAINE DES FINES CAILLOTTES
Pebbly Limestone-Clay :
Also called Barrois limestone (calcaire du Barrois), , this terroir was formed during the Portlandian period about 147 million years ago.
This is a hot soil from which a very beautiful, indeed exceptional ripeness, can be obtained. The aromas, often fruity, reveal themselves rapidly during the maturation of the wines. Their potential for bottle aging is very good and increases with the age of the vines.
Our "Cuvée Prestige des Fines Caillottes" is made from this soil type where our oldest vines are found.
